Pontefract — home of the castle, the racecourse and the famous liquorice cakes — sits just east of our Wakefield depot, an easy run down the M62 and the A645. That proximity means WF8 gets reliable next-day delivery and regular same-day slots across the town, from the historic centre near the Castle and Market to the outlying villages of Darrington and East Hardwick.
The town's housing stock runs from Georgian and Victorian properties around the town centre and Tanshelf to the post-war estates in Chequerfield and the newer builds toward Carleton. We handle the lot: mini skips for bathroom strip-outs, 8-yard builder's skips for the renovation jobs that these older houses regularly need, and roll-on-roll-off containers for the commercial sites around the Baghill and Monkhill corridors.
Pontefract is Wakefield Council territory, so permits here follow the same process as the rest of the WF district. After years working the area we know the town-centre streets around the Buttercross and Salter Row that need a licence, and the driveway-heavy roads in Carleton and Darrington that don't — and we flag any permit requirement before delivery, not after.
