Our Dewsbury operation is based at Carlinghow Mills, an old textile mill site on the A638 Bradford Road that sits almost exactly on the boundary between Batley and Dewsbury. The site's history is part of the reason we picked it — Carlinghow was one of the mills that defined the Heavy Woollen district, and the wider area (Dewsbury, Batley, Mirfield, Heckmondwike and Liversedge) still has the mix of Victorian terraces, old mill conversions and industrial yards that makes local skip hire a very specific job.
From Carlinghow Mills we run the fleet that covers WF12 through WF17, plus a chunk of BD11 and BD19 across the M62 boundary. The A638 and A644 give us fast runs into Mirfield, Heckmondwike and Cleckheaton, and junction 26 of the M62 is three minutes from the yard — which is how we end up delivering into Gomersal, Birkenshaw and the outer BD11/BD19 edge on the same drops. 2 and 4-yard mini skips for bathroom and yard clearances in Dewsbury Moor and Ravensthorpe, 6 and 8-yarders for the kitchen rebuilds and terrace renovations across Mirfield and Heckmondwike, and bigger 12 and 16-yard jumbos for the commercial jobs on the old mill sites.
Because the Dewsbury depot is closer to WF13 onwards than our Wakefield HQ is, we route all bookings for WF12 and further west through this yard rather than Denby Dale Road. Distance matters: a skip coming out of Wakefield for a job on Ravensthorpe Road has to cross half the WF district, whereas Carlinghow Mills is five minutes away. Faster delivery, faster swaps, lower fuel cost passed back into the price.
