What affects the price of a skip?

Three things move the number up or down. All of them are shown to you up front before you pay — nothing is added later.

Your postcode

Delivery distance from the nearest depot sets your price band. Central Leeds, Wakefield and Batley are our cheapest zones; the further out, the slightly higher the price.

Skip size & waste type

Bigger skips cost more, and heavy waste (soil, rubble, concrete) is limited to smaller sizes for weight reasons. Controlled items like mattresses, plasterboard and upholstered furniture carry a small surcharge.

Whether you need a permit

A skip on private land (driveway or yard) needs no permit. A skip on the public road needs a council licence — we arrange it for a £40 admin fee plus the council's own charge.

How much does it cost to hire a skip?

Skip hire in West Yorkshire with EFR Skips starts from £125 for a 2-yard mini skip, £165 for a 4-yard midi, £270 for an 8-yard builder's skip and £500 for a 16-yard jumbo. Every price includes VAT, delivery, collection and a 7-day hire period. The exact figure depends on your postcode — central Leeds, Wakefield and Batley are our lowest price zones — plus the skip size and whether you need a road permit. Are your skip prices inclusive of VAT?

Yes. Every price EFR Skips quotes already includes VAT at 20%, along with delivery, collection and 7 days' hire. The figure you see is the figure you pay — there is no VAT added at checkout and no card surcharge. If you need an itemised VAT invoice for trade or business purposes, just ask and we'll email it the same day.

What is the cheapest skip you offer?

The cheapest option is our 2-yard mini skip, from £125 inc VAT, which suits a small bathroom strip-out or roughly 25 bin bags of waste. If you have more than that, sizing up to a 4-yard (from £165) is usually better value than hiring two minis. For very tight streets where a skip can't be left standing, our wait-and-load service can work out cheaper still, as there's no permit to pay for.

Why is skip hire cheaper in some areas than others?

Price comes down largely to how far our wagon travels from the nearest depot. We run depots in Wakefield, Leeds (Beeston) and Batley, so postcodes close to those sites — LS10, LS11, WF1, WF2, WF17 — sit in our lowest price bands. Areas at the edge of our network cost a little more to reflect the extra drive time and fuel, but the price is always all-inclusive with no hidden weight or disposal charges on standard mixed waste.

Are there any hidden charges?

No. The price you're quoted covers VAT, delivery, collection and 7 days' hire, with no weight charges on standard mixed builder's waste. The only extras — always shown up front, never a surprise — are a council permit if the skip goes on a public road, and a small per-item surcharge for controlled waste such as mattresses, plasterboard and upholstered furniture.
