Home/RoRo Containers

When a skip won't cut it

A roll-on roll-off container holds the equivalent of several builder's skips, so for demolition, strip-outs, fit-outs and busy commercial sites it removes the bottleneck of constantly cycling smaller skips in and out. One container, one swap when it's full, one final collection. We run RoRos from the same West Yorkshire depots as our skips, so delivery, swaps and collection stay quick and predictable — keeping your project moving.

RoRo container sizes

20yard

20 Yard RoRo

The entry-level roll-on roll-off — around three times an 8-yard builder's skip. Ideal for shop fit-outs, office strip-outs and steady commercial waste.

40yard

40 Yard RoRo

Our workhorse container for demolition, construction and large clearances where the waste volume is high but the material is bulky and light.

50yard

50 Yard RoRo

The largest option, for major demolition and industrial projects producing very high volumes of lightweight waste.

RoRos are for bulky, lightweight waste — not heavy soil, rubble or concrete. For heavy material, choose a smaller skip or our grab hire and muck away service instead.

Roll-on roll-off questions

What is a roll-on roll-off (RoRo) skip?

A roll-on roll-off skip, or RoRo, is a large open-topped container — typically 20, 40 or 50 cubic yards — that is delivered and collected by a specialist hook-loader lorry that rolls it on and off the vehicle. RoRos hold the equivalent of several standard builder's skips, so they suit sites that generate a high volume of waste and would otherwise need constant skip changes. EFR Skips supplies RoRo containers across West Yorkshire for demolition, construction, fit-out and commercial clearance projects.

What size RoRo container do I need?

Our RoRo range runs from 20 to 50 cubic yards. A 20-yard container suits shop and office fit-outs and steady commercial waste; a 40-yard is the usual choice for demolition and construction sites; and a 50-yard handles major industrial projects with very high volumes of light waste. RoRos are best for bulky, lightweight material rather than heavy waste like soil and rubble — for heavy loads a smaller skip or grab hire is more appropriate. Call us with your project details and we'll recommend the right size.

How much does RoRo skip hire cost?

RoRo hire is quoted per project rather than as a flat rate, because it depends on the container size, the type and weight of waste, how many swaps you need and your location. Because a RoRo replaces several skips and cuts the number of collections, it is usually the most cost-effective option for high-volume sites. Call EFR Skips on 01924 637777 with your postcode, container size and expected waste type and we'll provide a clear quote and a delivery and swap schedule.

Do you offer enclosed RoRo containers?

Yes. Alongside open RoRos we can supply enclosed 16-yard skips with lockable doors for secure commercial waste, and enclosed containers where site security or fly-tipping is a concern. Enclosed options are popular with retail units, offices and sites in busy public locations. Let us know your security requirements when you enquire and we'll match the right container to the job.

Which areas do you cover for RoRo hire?

We deliver, swap and collect roll-on roll-off containers across our full West Yorkshire service area — Wakefield, Leeds, Dewsbury, Ossett and the surrounding WF, LS and BD postcodes. We handle the delivery, swaps and final collection to fit your project schedule, so demolition, fit-out and commercial work keeps moving without the bottleneck of cycling smaller skips in and out.
